Asking for money is a little scary and embarrassing for me, so supportive messages are very welcome.  

I'm in a position to ask for some financial help: a couple weeks ago someone ran into the back of my faithful 1998 Toyota Sienna and the insurance called it a total. I was thankfully not injured, or at least so far have no whiplash symptoms, as it was more of a side-swipe than a direct hit.

The Sienna had over 200,000 miles and the insurance settlement was $ 4,200, not enough to get a good replacement. My Social Security is inadequate and I can pull a little out of savings, but I could sure use some help. I'm hoping to get something that's younger than I am and runs better than I do. ( By the way, my two knee replacements are healing nicely and I can walk 4 miles at a stretch.) Please give only what you can give joyfully.
