PRAYER WARRIOR UPDATE:

Good morning all of my beautiful friends and family! I have lots of news. Today I’m heading to Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC to see a clinical trial doctor there. They have some promising-looking trials that might help the crummy cancer I’ve been dealing with for 15 years now.

At the end of May, I’m going to be flying to France to have a surgical treatment for two very difficult-to-get-to tumors. There is nowhere here in the U.S. or Canada that is doing it yet. I’ve had an appointment already via Zoom with the doctor there, and he’s very confident that he can get those two little buggers without causing damage to my colon for one of them and to my diaphragm for another one. I have a few other little ones that I can get treated in Dallas, Texas.

The surgery in France will not be covered by my insurance, and I’ll have to pay for it upfront. The whole surgery, hospital stay (which will be a few days) will be about $11,000. If they did the same surgery here, it would cost in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Unbelievable…

I’m still searching for a possible way to get a free flight to Paris but haven’t had any luck yet with that. From what I can tell, the flight will be about $3,000 roundtrip for Jim and me. Then we’ll need to get a hotel, etc.
