On Monday August 15th, Liz was feeling short of breath and her husband Marcus rushed her to St. Anthony hospital in Westminster, CO. It was quickly discovered that she had a pulmonary embolism - a life threatening blood clot in her lung - and the clot needed to be removed.

Unfortunately, Liz went into cardiac arrest before they could remove the clot. She was resuscitated for 15 minutes before her heart started beating on its own. She was then taken back for an emergency thrombectomy to remove the clots from her lungs. Marcus was told it was unlikely she would live through the night. 

But we serve an amazing God, and Liz is a fighter! She made it through surgery and through the first night on maximum blood pressure support. Slowly but surely, she was able to be weaned down off the cardiac support. 

She was intubated in the ICU until Thursday morning the 18th. It was a scary few days until Liz was extubated, opened her eyes, and started talking to us!

We are so thankful to God that Liz seems to be on the road to a full recovery. It’s nothing short of a miracle that she is still with us.

We want to do everything we can to support Marcus, Liz, and Alastair physically, emotionally, and financially. Medical bills will start coming in during this healing process, as well as the cost of meals, daycare, and every day expenses. We don’t want that to be something they even have to think about.

Liz does so much for others and loves other people so well. She’s a child therapist and a loving wife and mother to their three year old son, Alastair. We want to love on her in a practical way.
