Heyo,
In early 2024, I was diagnosed with Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (GPA) — a rare and serious autoimmune disease that causes inflammation in the blood vessels. This can lead to reduced blood flow to vital organs like the lungs, kidneys, and sinuses, potentially causing organ damage or failure if left untreated.
For over five years, I struggled with unexplained breathing issues. Getting a diagnosis was both a relief and a wake-up call. GPA is a lifelong condition that, if not managed properly, can be fatal. Thankfully, I began treatment in May 2024 and have seen real improvements since then.
However, my treatment isn’t over.
In June 2025, I need to continue with a crucial round of medication to prevent a decline in my health. I’m currently living in Brasil, where accessing this medication through the public health system involves a long and uncertain bureaucratic process. Private health insurance, unfortunately, has a waiting period of over two years before it would cover this treatment.
After consulting with medical professionals here, the best and most reliable option is to pay out of pocket for treatment at an infusion center. This allows me to stay on schedule with my care while I continue my application to access treatment through the public health system.
This is an unexpected and significant expense at a time when I’m still settling into a new life in Brasil after moving here just two months ago.
Any support — whether through donations or simply sharing this page — would mean the world to me. Your help will go directly toward the cost of life-saving treatment and give me the stability I need to heal.
With your support, I know I can kick this illness’s ass.
Thank you so much for reading and for standing with me in this fight.
