Prostate Cancer & Living with Lymphoma
Donation protected
Hello dear friend,
If you don't know already, it's been a hard and long journey since contracting Shigella Flexneri in November or 2021 and THEN being diagnosed with lymphoma this past March of '23. Specifically, I have a fast-paced cancer called Richter's Syndrome or diffuse large cell lymphoma (DLBLC). Currently, I am just finished my fourth of six chemotherapy treatments at the Cooley Dickenson Cancer Center in Northampton, MA
I am writing asking if you could help me out financially with a donation until I get my disability approved. I was let go from my job back in January and I could use the funds to help pay for monthly debts such as:
- Rent $1,300
- Bills/Utilities $350
- Groceries $400
- Car Payments and Insurance $325
- Computer software for building resumes, updating sales website, job applications, and keeping the finances in order...etc
Additionally, I need to buy clothes to fit my once 36" wait that is now a 29" (not exactly how I wanted to slim down)
It's difficult to go get a job while you are in and out of the hospital and/or doctor's office, right? So other fund-raising methods I am looking at will be starting up my HAAG candles and sundries website - maybe include my drawings and paintings - thus I will be sending that info out as soon as it's up and ready. I'll also be taking special orders for candles and can work with you on bulk pricing for the holidays or other special events like weddings, birthdays, and anniversaries. Just reach out. Some other great news on the horizon is going back to school: I was accepted to one of the best Master of Social Work programs for fall of 2023 at Westfield College here in Massachusetts the day before my diagnosis was given but I had to defer it until 2024 because it's going to be too hard to study like this. I am excited to change my career path and be able to help others help themselves - especially in getting help for medical issues, while getting financially back on my feet. So, there is money I could use for schooling.
Also, since getting treatment my white blood cells are returning to the normal range so I can eventually have dental cleanings done and some other necessary medical procedures to get back to normal. Cha-ching!
Donations can be a one-time amount, or you can send payments for the next few months as you like. Any amount is appreciated and open to other contributions like food and rides to appointments.
Thank you for getting this far into the story. I hope you can support me in some way: a dollar or 1k dollars, a meal or a ride. Your generosity from the heart is just as helpful as from your bank account. So give a call. Hearing from you means a lot as well. [email redacted]
