Living Wage as Minimum Wage
It is our intention to present to the Ohio legislature an amendment to Ohio law, summarized here:
BALLOT SUMMARY: Establishes in Ohio a minimum wage that is a living wage.
We are working under an inflexible timeline, dictated by Ohio State law:
An initial written petition, signed by 1000 Ohio registered voters submitted to the Attorney General.
This money will be used to accomplish the initial goals: 1) hire a qualified person (already identified) to write the language of the petition and the summary that appears on the signature petitions; 2) hire a company (already identified) that specializes in obtaining petition signatures.
That means we have about two weeks to raise the money for our petition writer.. maybe a bit more, but not much.
THIS EFFORT sponsored by Make A Difference (MAD) Ohio. We believe that if this initiative gets on the ballot for the November 3, 2020 election, a lot of people who might not have bothered to vote, will show up; and with luck, they will turn Ohio blue, and save our democracy.
