In March 2026, I will be traveling to Hamburg, Germany (March 7–14) with First Baptist Church of Starkville, while I’m a student at Mississippi State University, to serve on a mission trip focused on evangelism and community outreach.
As Jesus commands in Mark 16:15,“ Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.”
This trip is an opportunity for me to live out that calling by going, serving, and sharing the hope of Christ with people who may have never truly heard the gospel.
Germany is often considered a post-Christian nation, and very few people regularly attend church. Only about 5% of people attend religious services monthly, and in major cities like Hamburg, the number of people who are religiously unaffiliated continues to grow. While Hamburg has historically been Protestant and is still religiously diverse, many people today have little connection to Christianity or the message of the gospel.
Because of this, ministry in Hamburg is deeply needed and incredibly meaningful. We will be supporting long-term missionaries and local partners already serving in the city and helping reach communities where ministry teams are not currently working.
What We’ll Be Doing
-Through the Church's partnership with the IMB and local ministry teams, we will:
-Pray intentionally for the city and its people
-Explore new neighborhoods to build relationships
-Conduct surveys to connect with those who may be seeking truth
-Share the gospel in strategic areas
-Assist with ministry projects alongside local partners
Our role is to support and strengthen the work already being done while building genuine connections with people in the community.
Christ has called us as Christians to go and tell others about Him. He gave His life in the greatest example of love anyone could ever show, and we are called to share about His sacrifice and that He paid the debt we owe for our sins and offers forgiveness and new life through Him.
Since my senior year of high school and especially during college, my faith has grown tremendously as I’ve learned what it means to daily seek Christ and grow in Christ-likeness. That growth includes being obedient to His callings and commandments, even when that means stepping outside of my comfort zone and trusting Him fully.
At FBC Starkville, I am actively involved in the college ministry, and I currently serve as a Stark Kids leader on Wednesday nights and as a greeter in the children’s ministry on Sunday mornings. I have also previously served on a mission trip with this church to New Orleans, where we hosted a basketball camp for the community. Those experiences confirmed how powerful it is to share Christ through both words and actions, and they helped prepare me for this opportunity in Germany.
