Tina is a 48 year old wife and mother of 3. On the morning of February 5th, Tina woke up feeling dizzy and lightheaded, and thought she was having a bout of vertigo. However, the dizziness continued and she developed debilitating headaches and could not follow simple commands. Tina’s husband took her to the emergency room where they found a grapefruit size tumor on her brain. She underwent a tumor resection removing the majority of the tumor, but at Tina’s follow up appointment with her neuro-oncologist, she was informed that she has the most deadly and incurable form of brain cancer, a Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM), a fast-growing and aggressive brain tumor and was given a prognosis of 12 to 15 months life expectancy.
Tina has a positive attitude and a fighting spirt and is willing to try both traditional and non-traditional therapies to prolong her life expectancy. She is now on disability and can no longer work. Due to her expensive medical treatments and medication expenses, she has incurred an exuberant amount of financial burden. Along with that, Tina has never had an opportunity to go on her dream vacation to Hawaii. Her family is trying to raise money to help offset her medical expenses, and to hopefully give her that dream vacation.
