I am resurrecting the Living Newspaper, a method of addressing the issues of the day used in the 1930s by playwrights. This approach to theater was designed to bring urgent social topics to the stage, giving voice to perspectives that were often overlooked by mainstream media. By organizing performances of two plays, King Ludd and The Amanuensis, I hope to continue this tradition and create a space for dialogue and reflection on current issues.
The funds raised will be used to pay the talented actors and crew who bring these stories to life, rent a venue that welcomes our community, and cover advertising costs to reach a wider audience. Supporting this project means supporting the arts and ensuring that important conversations can happen through theater.
Since ancient times, those without access to the mainstream media of the day have chosen theater as a way to provide an outlet for different points-of-view. Your support will help revive this powerful tradition and make these performances possible. Please consider contributing and sharing this fundraiser to help us bring the Living Newspaper back to the stage.
