April 13, 2017
This is the date that changed my sisters life forever.  My sister Becky Norman was born with only one kidney.  She had kidney stones often over her 47 years of life, first one at 16, this is when they found out she had one kidney, she was hospitalized and had lazer surgery.

Thursday, April 13 I talked to her on the phone, (she lives in Texas, I live in Arizona) she was crying, she was going to the ER, thinking a kidney stone, she was throwing up every once in awhile, pain in the back, all the signs of having the dreaded kidney stone.  I told her "it would be okay, and I love her and  let me know whats going on".  I get a text from my mom, call her.  My mom told me she was in kidney failure-"what does that mean?"  Frantic I work stuff out at work with my kids, we pack bags and drive the long boring 18 hour drive to Texas.
When I walked into that hospital room and saw my sister and the fear in her eyes I knew this was not good.
In the week and a half in the hospital, she now has a port in the left side of her neck that is hooked-up to dialysis 3 days a weeks for 4 hours at a time.

She is trying to stay postive.  As most people know trying to get disability Social Security can take years,  my sister has worked since 15 years old, raising her children, Alec (sophomore at Texas A&M) Abbey  (sophomore in high school) and her husbund of 25 years, have lived a good life, we always have bumps in the road, but over all a good life.

So, now we have to get a donor transport team and I am going to be tested to donate a kidney, this a quite a process, which unfortunately the dialysis center does not do, we have to find this on our own.  If I am not a match, we will jump that hurdle then.

My sister is one of the most giving person you will ever meet.  Even though I am the oldest, I have always looks up to her.  If you are able, please share this post or help with living and medical expenses as I don't want her to worry about anything but staying healthyand stree free.
Thanks for all your love and prayers during this very hard time.  We love you all!!
