TW: Suicide

My name is Hannah and I have no idea if something like this will work, but I’m out of options at this point and need to find a way to help my family. I’m going to get real and I’m going to be vulnerable and this is really hard for me. My husband has dealt with mental illness for many years. He has been in and out of therapy, did intensive outpatient treatment in 2018, and has had 2 aborted suicide attempts over the years. He did improve, but it all worsened in late 2022 and his mental health has severely declined in the last month. I will not go into too much detail about his current state, but I will share that he was almost admitted for in-patient care this week and we have started the route of partial hospitalization instead. This will require him to travel to Columbus for intensive treatment every day for 4-6 weeks. His ability to work has been significantly affected and going to work has caused him so much distress that I feel it is no longer safe for him to work. He needs to focus on getting better and move towards recovery as much as possible. So I’ve created this in the hopes we can get help to cover his pay for at least 2 months so he can pull out of work to focus on treatment and be monitored 24/7 for his safety. I’m on leave from work during this time to care for him and our family while he works on getting better. I’m blessed to have a supportive job to allow me this time to help him, but Grant doesn’t have that ability or the option for paid leave. I understand this is a lot to ask and I don’t expect anything from everyone. I appreciate you all and if you’ve read this far, thank you so much for listening.
