Roger Stamper has stage 4 head and neck cancer and is no longer responding to chemotherapy treatments. His cancer has spread to the point that he has to rely on a feeding tube for nutrition.
Roger has not been able to work since he was diagnosed in the fall of 2018. His wife, Kimberly, has trouble holding work because she is Roger's main caregiver. The family does not have health insurance and Medicaid will not pick up the expenses for his treatments due to an error in their system mistakenly indicating that the family does have insurance. Some medications can be paid for out of pocket for the time being, but some cannot. The medical expenses have hit so hard that the family is being evicted from their home and their car is on the repo list. Funds are needed immediately to secure new housing and cover the family's basic living expenses.
Roger, his wife Kimberly, daughter Maribeth, and grandson Ryan.
Your donation will be used to immediately secure new housing and meet the ongoing basic needs of the family, including Kimberly, their daughter Maribeth (13), and dependent grandson Ryan (4). They will also help provide Roger with some of the medications he needs.
The medical expenses of a cancer patient should not punish the patient's entire family, but we live in a world in which they do. Roger is a hard-working, loving husband, father, step-father and grandpa (Pop Pop). He has raised three step kids as his own. He has helped many people put roofs over their heads and helped people in need of a job to give them their first break.
Roger holding a fish he caught with Ryan on Friday, 6/21/2019.
We hope the world will return the kindness that he has put out into it. Your donation will help insure that the family has a home and a car and that Roger has the medication he needs. If you have nothing to donate, please share!
