Living Expenses for HK Derryberry

My name is HK Derryberry and I am 32 years old. I came into this world at 13 weeks when my mother was killed in a car accident in Maury County, Tennessee. I'm blind, paralyzed on my right side, and have cerebral palsy. Neither my father nor maternal grandmother wanted to take me, so I've spent my entire life being cared for by my paternal grandmother, Pearl Derryberry, my Grammy.

Grammy recently suffered a debilitating stroke on July 5th and is confined to a rehabilitation center in Columbia, TN. Her prognosis of returning to normal life at home with me is highly unlikely.

As you can imagine, I really miss Grammy. She has always been my rock and caregiver. Without her at home, I cannot live independently due to my disabilities and need for 24-hour care every day. I receive some government assistance, but it is minimal and doesn't come anywhere close to covering my daily needs. Other than Grammy, I have no relatives to rely on for care or financial assistance. My weekly expenses to remain at home with around-the-clock caregivers is running over $2,000 a week. Caregivers allow me to remain at home in a familiar, comfortable, and safe environment
