On July 25th, my friend of over 35 years, Robb Johnson, went bowling. When the evening was over, he noticed his right hand was tingling. He dismissed it and thought it would resolve itself after a good night's sleep. Wrong.

When he woke up on the 26th and couldn't move his right arm, he went to the ER and was admitted as the initial diagnosis was an atypical stroke.

After numerous tests and several MRIs, it was determined that there was no stroke, but his C3-C7 vertebrae are "destroyed" and have caused damage to his spinal cord. His doctor immediately contacted an orthopedic specialist for consultation.

Robb will need plates and rods inserted into his cervical spine and possibly some fusion. He will have this delicate surgery on 7/29/25. It's that serious that they just cannot wait.

The good news is that Robb has medical insurance. The bad news is that he is self-employed and will not have any income from July 25th through the 8 weeks (or more) of recovery. His monthly expenses are roughly $3500.

Not only is Robb self-employed (in mostly construction-type work), he is also a musician. We want him to regain the feeling in his right arm so that he can not only work but play the guitar again.

We, his family and community of friends, want to ensure that Robb can concentrate on his recovery instead of worrying about his finances. The kindness of those that are willing to help is always such an overwhelming blessing, and it will not go unnoticed by Robb or the rest of us.
