On Sunday, November 9th, my 78-year-old mother Lee experienced a life-changing accident. While smoking a cigarette with her oxygen cannula on, she went to relight it and it ignited, burning her face, much of her hair, and her airway. Lee has been in the ICU for ten days and is preparing for her third surgery this coming Monday. The physical pain and medical challenges have been immense, but the emotional impact is just as profound.

Lee has always been a strong, loving presence in our family, and seeing her face these hardships has been heartbreaking. As her daughter, I want to do everything I can to help her heal—not just physically, but emotionally. The funds raised will go directly toward therapy and counseling to help Lee cope with the psychological effects of her injuries and adjust to her new appearance. Unfortunately, none of these services will be covered by insurance, which is why I am reaching out for support now.

Every donation will go toward Lee’s recovery and well-being. More than anything, I want her to feel surrounded by love and reminded that she is cherished for who she is, not just how she looks.
