Our story – Livy, Gabe, Caitlyn, Mackie, Bobby, and Remi
My name is Gabe Lipman. A few years ago I met the love of my life, Liviah Talania, and we quickly fell in love. We celebrated the birth of our happy baby boy, Remi, two years ago. Together, we were also raising three children from a previous marriage. Recently, Livy and I purchased a townhouse in Northern California and went about creating a home for our large family of six. We were so happy here. Our kids are Caitlyn (age 14), McKenzie (age 10), Bobby (age 8), and Remi (age 2).
Livy always suffered from asthma, sometimes severe, but lately it became significantly worse. Two weeks ago, at the young age of 40, Livy woke up and couldn’t breathe. Due to lack of oxygen, and a lung infection, she suffered sudden cardiac arrest. Unresponsive, she was put on life support and a ventilator for the last 15 days while doctors assessed her level of brain function. Yesterday (March 10, 2016) I was given the final, devastating results: her brain was hopelessly damaged with no possibility of recovery. I told our four kids later that day when they visited Livy. A part of my soul died when I had to say those words. We removed her from life support yesterday and she passed away last night at 11:40 pm.
Livy did not have a will or life insurance. Her health insurance is not expected to cover all of her hospital bills. Her funeral expenses alone are going to cost more than we have and time is not on our side. We are in shock and total despair– having to worry about how we will get through this financially at a time when our children have lost their mother is just adding to the emotional trauma. We are asking for donations to help cover her medical and burial expenses. Any amount would be helpful and so greatly appreciated. Any excess donations will go to college funds we are setting up for the children. Bless you and thank you.
