Livia Harget Memorial Fund

On March 26, 2011, Eric and Beth Harget welcomed their daughter, Livia Harget into the world.  Like any other child, Livia's birth was a miracle from God, but in Livia's case, her arrival was that much more special.  During Beth's pregnancy, doctors discovered that Livia had a serious genetic disorder, Trisomy 18, which would present serious, debilitating challenges.  Only 50 % of babies who are carried to term with Trisomy 18 are ever born alive.  Only 10% of babies live beyond one year old.  Despite these grim statistics, Eric and Beth vowed to not let those grim statistics define their daughter's life.  

Eric and Beth devoted their lives to ensuring that Livia had every possible opportunity to thrive and flourish.  They provided unmatched care, love, and support, sacrificing anything and everything that could possibly stand in the way of Livia’s success.  Anyone that knows Eric and Beth, has seen firsthand their commitment to each other and to Livia.  Over the past eight years, there have been numerous triumphs and challenges, but Eric and Beth worked tirelessly together to provide Livia with the highest quality of life possible.  Tragically, the Harget's journey with Livia came to a sudden and unforeseen end, when Livia passed away on March 5, 2020 due to complications from the flu. 

As family and friends of the Harget family, we are of course heartbroken; however, we can all learn from the examples of strength and compassion provided to us by Eric and Beth during their mission to make Livia’s life better. As a means to assist Eric and Beth through this painful loss, this Go Fund Me page has been set up to help assist with funeral and medical expenses.  The account is managed by the City of Middletown Police Benevolent Association, and ALL proceeds will directly benefit the Harget Family.
