Liver Transplant Needed — Help 36-Year-Old Aman Survive

Donation protected
Somewhere in New Delhi, two little girls — aged 9 and 3 — are waiting for their papa to come home. I can't stop thinking about them.

My name is Pragati. I'm Aman's sister. Honey , I don't even know where to begin.

My younger brother, Aman , is 36 years old. He should be in the prime of his life. Instead, he's lying in a hospital bed at the Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences (ILBS) in New Delhi, fighting advanced liver cirrhosis (DILI/NASH related) with decompensated liver that has been slowly destroying his body for years. In just the past few months, he's been hospitalized three times. And now we've been told his liver and kidneys are both failing, and that he needs a liver transplant within the next month. There may be kidney complications on top of that & may need kidney transplant as well. I found out over a phone call, thousands of kilometers away, and I just sat there. I didn't know what to say.

I still don't, really.
Aman is not just my brother. He's a devoted husband. He's the father of those two little girls I mentioned — one is 9, the other just turned 3. He's the son my aging mother depends on for everything after my father passed few years ago. He's the kind of person who holds everyone else together. And right now he needs us to hold him.

His wife — honestly one of the bravest people I know — has offered to be his living donor. That gave us hope we didn't have before. But the road ahead is long and hard. Neither of them will be able to work for months after the surgery. And our family, we're not wealthy. We're ordinary, middle-class people who have already spent every single rupee we had on hospital visits, tests, medicines, and travel & stay in Delhi. Family is spending 45000 INR ( $900 cad) everyday in the hospital stay and the surgery cost will be on top of that.

The transplant is estimated to cost between ₹25 to ₹35 lakhs ( $ 36,000 - $45,000) — and that's before any additional treatment if his kidneys get worse.
I never thought I'd be writing something like this. Asking people for help doesn't come naturally to me. But when I think of his
daughters asking where papa is, I'll do anything.

So I'm asking. Please, whatever you can donate — even if it feels small — it means everything to us. Every single dollar goes directly toward saving my brother's life and keeping his family from falling apart. And if you can't donate right now, please just share this in your network and keep him in your prayers.

I'll keep posting updates from ILBS as things progress, so you'll know exactly how Aman is doing and how your kindness is helping.

Thank you. From the very bottom of my heart.
