Liver Transplant means life for Barry
It’s Barry! And yes, I’m launching this GoFundMe because I need your support. I need a liver transplant if I am to survive much longer. And my costs to cover my hospital/medications for the next two years are beyond anything I am able to afford.
Due to the degrading effects of the cancer to my liver, I not only suffered physical hardships including tremors, lack of focus, confusion, inability to remain awake during the day, and gastrointestinal problems…. but, was also let go by my employer at this pivotal time.
My goal is to help cover my hospital costs and associated medical costs for the liver transplant - which could go beyond $100,000, as well as the costly medications - just for clarity - just 1 month of ONE of my medications to stay alive and aware until transplant costs $2800 per month.

1. University of Penn transplant house- the Clyde Barker Transplant House- the house runs almost completely on donations. This house is located 4 blocks from Penn and is for patients and families who are awaiting transplant, families staying there while their loved ones recover after a transplant, or when they come in from out of town for a post op visit. It is only for Penn patients.
2. Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and its individual departments ranked high in U.S. News and World Report’s Best Children’s Hospitals for 2021-2022.
3. Penn Transplant Institute at the University of Penn Medical Center (Perlman Cancer Center)
