Liver Transplant for Brandon Morgan
Donation protected
Hi everyone, I’m fundraising for myself and my donor. I am in need for a transplant and currently going to UPMC in Pittsburg, PA to undergo a live donor liver transplant. I have had cirhossis (liver disease) since my first surgery in 97’. As an infant I underwent a Kasai procedure. They had replaced my damaged bile duct with a portion of my intestine and removed the gallbladder. This procedure ultimately saved my life and lengthened my time. Although a successful surgery, the Kasai procedure will not sustain healthy life over a long period of time. Throughout the years I have struggled with multiple blood infections, colongitis, liver abscesses, varices, ascites, portal hypertension, and many other medical issues that result from this horrible birth born disease. More recently in my search to find a hospital for my transplant, I was referred to UPMC. After several tests for a pre transplant evaluation they discovered the abscesses I had are cancerous and link to HCC ( Hepaticellular Carcinoma ). According to several scans regarding the possibility of HCC there was a small tumor noted inside my liver. Moreover with this now possibility of liver cancer and already having liver disease that causes a serious conflict with treatment plans for the remainder of my life. A transplant will remove that possibility of cancer and give me a fresh start on a new liver. If all goes well as I hope, and the support from anyone and everyone that can help I will soon be fully transplanted and recovering to better my life, and appreciate an actual chance at a normal life. A life where I don’t constantly have to check with medical professionals regarding my health or constantly look over my shoulder. I want to thank each and every one of you for reading and trying to understand the situation. I also thank you for your support and help in any kind of way!
