Liver Lovers for Stacy Stevens

As some of you may know, my sister-in-law, Brian’s wife, is in need of a liver transplant. After several years of doctor visits and innumerous tests, Stacy has been placed on the transplant list due to Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis. PSC is a chronic disease that slowly damages the bile ducts by becoming blocked due to inflammation and scarring. This causes bile to accumulate in the liver, where it gradually damages liver cells and causes cirrhosis of the liver. As the cirrhosis progresses, the amount of scar tissue in the liver increases leaving the liver to slowly lose its ability to function causing the need for a transplant. The transplant surgery will take place at USC Keck Transplant Hospital by some of the best, most experienced doctors.




While insurance will cover some costs, they will not cover all the medical costs. Additionally, they will need funds for travel and housing especially since a place will need to be rented in Los Angeles close to the hospital for 3-6 weeks during the immediate recovery period. Brian and Stacy will also be out of work during this time.




We know this will be a long, challenging journey for them so we are asking for donations for Brian and Stacy to help alleviate the stress and worry of medical bills and other costs.
