My name is Jessie Valdez I am 58 years old. 


All my life I've worked hard to provide for my family. Unfortunately my health has deteriorated to a point where I am unable to work.


About a year and a half after I began getting ill. With no personal health insurance, I have used all of my family's savings to stay afloat, 


3 years ago was my first trip to the hospital with fainting spells and severe stomach pains. With multiple studies, scans, and long stays in the hospital, we found I have liver and kidney failure. Rather quickly, my body began to start slowing, limbs swelling, belly swelling and legs infection and more frequent trips to the hospital. About a year after this initial visit I have not been able to work. 7 months ago I was in ICU for 3 weeks, with spending 5 of those days in a coma. By the grace of God and my stubbornness, I am still here, fighting for my family. As a person that has been active and has always worked, it is hard to accept the fact that help is needed. Not just financially but with everyday tasks as well.

With no income, it has been a struggle to keep the lights on, food on the table, and clothes on my children's back. Now we are at risk of loosing our home. My children, ages 15, 12, and 8, they are my life, and I cannot loose their home. After all we have been through the last few years, I cant let that happen. This is why I am asking for your help. Everything I had has gotten us to this point. Now I am at risk of losing my children's home.

Mi nombre es Jessie Valdez, tengo 58 años.


Toda mi vida he trabajado duro para mantener a mi familia. Lamentablemente, mi salud se ha deteriorado hasta el punto de que no puedo trabajar.


Alrededor de un año y medio después de que comencé a enfermarme. Sin un seguro médico personal, he utilizado todos los ahorros de mi familia para mantenerme a flote,


Hace 3 años fue mi primer viaje al hospital con desmayos y fuertes dolores de estómago. Con múltiples estudios, exploraciones y largas estadías en el hospital, descubrimos que tengo insuficiencia hepática y renal. Rápidamente  mi energia comenzó a disminuir, hinchazón de extremidades, hinchazón de abdomen e infección de piernas y viajes más frecuentes al hospital. Aproximadamente un año después de esta visita inicial, no he podido trabajar. Hace 7 meses estuve en la UCI durante 3 semanas, y pasé 5 de esos días en coma. Por la gracia de Dios y mi terquedad, todavía estoy aquí, luchando por mi familia. Como una persona que ha estado activa y siempre ha trabajado, es difícil aceptar el hecho de que se necesita ayuda. No solo financieramente, sino también con las tareas cotidianas.


Sin ingresos, ha sido una lucha mantener las luces encendidas, la comida en la mesa y la ropa en la espalda de mis hijos. Ahora corremos el riesgo de perder nuestra casa. Mis hijos, de 15, 12 y 8 años, son mi vida, y no puedo perder su hogar. Después de todo lo que hemos pasado en los últimos años, no puedo dejar que eso suceda. Por eso les pido su ayuda. Todo lo que tenía nos ha llevado a este punto. Ahora corro el riesgo de perder el hogar de mis hijos.
