A Friend in Need

Jason and I met Daniel through a mutual friend when we were building our house, and ultimately, we hired him to make our cabinets and doors. Our front door-the campaign picture- is his work. The quality of his work was unparalleled to other wood workers/artisans we had considered and we were immediately struck by his honesty and integrity. He worked tirelessly and earnestly in the face of adversity. His wife, Carmelita, was hospitalized too many times to count, battling Myasthenia Gravis, a condition that left her fighting for her life on numerous occasions. In between hospital stays and caring for their young daughter, Daniel would always get the job done. We loved him and his work so much that Jason now uses Daniel exclusively to make all of the cabinets for our townhomes. Just this morning, Daniel’s wood shop —- his entire livelihood—burned down to the ground. While Daniel was there working, a gas heater malfunctioned, shooting out flames and engulfed his shop within minutes. He fought to put it out but had to abandon efforts in order to evacuate tenants. In the end, all was lost. Jason was able to secure a temporary space for him today so that he can set up his shop while he begins the arduous task of starting over. It will take time and of course money to begin anew. Daniel has no idea about this Go Fund Me Campaign. If you are so moved, please donate to help him and his family get back on their feet. Any amount helps no matter how big or small. I promise that if you knew Daniel personally, you wouldn’t hesitate. ❤️
