❤️ Please Help Beautiful Bui Recover From Life‑Saving Surgery
A much loved dog who has helped so many in the past, now needs our help in return. Recently, Bui underwent three urgent, major surgeries that saved her life. These were:
• Removal of her spleen
• Removal of cancer from her mouth
• Reconstructive surgery to rebuild her mouth and nose.
Bui was insured, so thankfully, a large part of the cost was covered - but not all of it. Worryingly for her devoted mum, there is still a £3,500 shortfall, and as volunteers of K-9 Rescue Remedy, we want to help Bui and her mum with this unexpected burden. Here’s why…
Bui, a beautiful Griffon Fauve de Bretagne, has been a beloved family companion for over a decade. But she’s so much more than that — she’s part of the K-9 Rescue Remedy family. Over the years, her mum has volunteered countless hours to support rescue dogs and their people through difficult times, and now it’s our turn to support Bui and her mum.
A pair of fabulous fosterers
Bui and mum have also welcomed numerous K-9RR rescue dogs into their home over the years, surrounding them with love and care until their forever homes were found. Some didn’t go far - they stayed right there with Bui and her mum, becoming part of their family. These included, Henry the Hound, Gin, the German Shepherd, Max the Malinois Cross and Yofi the Staffy.
Get to know a little more about Bui
Here’s what her mum shared about this very special girl:
“I researched the perfect dog for me and went to the Discover Dogs show in London, where I met Bui’s grandad, Moose. Bui was one of 12 pups — 11 girls and one boy. The boy went on to be a champion. I brought Bui home at just over 8 weeks old, and we’ve now been together over 10 years”.
❤️ Bui is full of personality:
- She’s clever, cheeky, and will happily steal your socks… or your sandwich
- She’s a princess who avoids puddles and mud at all costs
- She loves her food, treats, chews, and especially search games, where she really shines
- She’s not usually fond of boys, but she adored Henry and secretly likes Yofi - two K-9RR rescue dogs she shared her home with
- She loves people and, as a youngster, would wander off on walks just to say hello to strangers
- She’s a cuddle bunny and a star fundraiser, happily standing outside Pets at Home with her mum to raise money for K-9RR
- She has many beds… but naturally prefers sleeping on her mum’s.
❤️ A small way to show you care can make a big difference
Bui and mum have given love, joy, and comfort to the many dogs and people K-9 Rescue Remedy support. Her mum has always been there for others, and now we want to be there for her.
