For my Angel,
Jayla, my 12 yr old sunray. Nothing less than perfect, she was all anyone could ever wish for in a daughter, MY HERO. Most of my baby's young life she battled with chronic asthma, this is a passed on trait throughout my family. After losing my mother in 2015 due to upper respiratory complications my daughter began to question death & fear that she would die from asthma or similar complications. As I would try to comfort & console my daughter I didn’t acknowledge her preparation. We often talked about death & why “we” have to die, even her coming back reincarnated.. Her beautiful soul was not meant to linger here on earth, but a pure example of what we ALL should mirror. This child of mine EMBODIED love, respect, intelligence, light, compassion, kindness, & I can go on.. Any person that ever came across my baby can tell you the same thing about her. How beautiful she was inside out. Active in school preparing for college as she studied pre AP this year & would've been taking college prep next year.. Band, choir, cheer, ROTC. All the things I thought my baby couldn't do or was scared for her to do because of her asthma, SHE DID IT! Loved & adored she was, a little angel walking this earth we got to borrow her for just these 12 short years, pure innocence. May 10th (Mother’s Day) God called my baby home after a severe sudden asthma attack. Mother’s Day will never be the same again.. I will never be the same again. As I prepare to lay my baby to rest on May 24th 2020 and continue her legacy I extend to those who want to help an opportunity to do so. Whatever is on your heart, with the help of you WE can make Jayla proud!
Once the appropriate time is given we will be moving forward with a non profit Asthma Awareness. Jayla’s school O.W. Holmes, where they’ve initiated a tribute to her “LIVE LIKE JAYLA”, wants to help my family bring awareness to children & families suffering with asthma also. I’ve chosen Jayla’s Teen Account that was originally set up for her future to be able to finish what she started. I always used to tell her how I wanted to leave her & her siblings a legacy & she left us one. & she always talked about changing the world & LOOK BABY! YOU DID IT!
