Please help our wildlife sanctuary relocate to a safe haven!

Nuneaton and Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary are desperately seeking funds to relocate from its Oaston Road home of over 23 years.

We are vulnerable and need to move...

It has always been a dream to move the wildlife sanctuary to a rural location it has now become a necessity and we really need your help.

Nuneaton and Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary was started by Geoff Grewcock back in 2001 and has over that time rescued over 100k wild birds and animals. The sanctuary has operated peacefully from the back garden of Geoff's bungalow in Oaston Road for this entire time but has found itself in an unbearable situation which means that now relocation is a must rather than a 'lottery dream'.

Why relocate after 23 years...?

Since 2021 the sanctuary has suffered at the hands of a vexatious complainer who has been hell bent on causing the sanctuary harm. We have suffered a tirade of issues which have directly caused untangable distress to the everyone involved with the sanctuary. It took an even darker turn mid 2021 when an abatement notice was served to the sanctuary by the local council following a complaint by this person. The repercussions of that abatement notice were devastating and would ultimately close the charity and put the resident wildlife at risk. We appealed and fought with everything we had because we knew that we didn't deserve that notice and after three years of hard work we won! It was ruled that the notice should never have been issued. This has cost us dearly, not just financially but mentally and emotionally too.

And this is why we need to relocate. We are living in constant fear of what will come next from this vexatious complainer. We feel at risk and whilst we can't go into details I can promise you that those feelings are sadly very justified. Unfortunately the services that are in place to protect us have not and we have been left vulnerable.

We need to find a safe haven for Geoff and the wildlife he dedicates his life to caring for.

The idea is that with a rural setting we will be free to continue our mission to rescue, rehabilitate and release wildlife. We will be in a position to grow the sanctuary and the charity.
