Live a little with what time Jamie has left

This is our journey. We’ve been together for 17 years as we were middle school sweethearts, then parted ways after 20 + years. We are co-parents of 6 beautiful children and 3 grandchildren.

Life has thrown us some curveballs before, and we have adapted and moved on. Jamie spends more time helping others instead of himself. Jamie was forced to retire at a young age of 38 and had to give up driving as well as other passions due to RA Rheumatoid Arthritis. Jamie has since had both knees replaced and was thinking of replacing his knuckles then developed COPD among other things in life and still smiles every day. Using Jamie’s sense of humour, he keeps us all in a positive light to make it throught the rough days.

October of 2022 our life got turned upside down. Jame was diagnosed with MDS a rare blood cancer, Myelodysplastic syndromes one of many incurable types of cancer with a life expectancy of 30 months. Standard care of treatment (biweekly blood transfusions, chemotherapy, and surgery) will only give him a few extra months, but we need more time and giving up is not an option. Jamie wants to be here with us, especially for his 3 granddaughters. We have spent months researching and reading medical journals and we did not find any promising medical alternative treatments that will help extend his life. However, Jamie is in good spirits and with hopes that a bone marrow transplant will extend his life.

Jamie and I want to enjoy trailer life on weekends as we do not have a house of our own. We want to spend weekends at a trailer by the lake, but of course mother nature didn't agree as our trailer has fallen apart due to water damage as the roof collapsed. We just want to live a little with what time Jamie has left, the best way he can and still make lasting memories.

We have our sites on a small used travel trailer This is why we must come to our family, our friends, and our community to help us financially, as we cannot do it alone.
