-My father has now gone for his six chemo washes, things are going better than expected. Although he is not feeling too well these days he is strong and a fighter and he will get through this. My father Dimitrios or Jimmy as most know him, just turned 53 years old and was diagnosed with bladder cancer early this April.
For those of you who know him, you know that he is an extraordinary human being. He is hard working, loving, unbelievably strong and always puts his family and friends before himself.
He underwent surgery in the beginning of April to remove the cancer, which was unsuccessful. As a result, he had to undergo a second surgery followed by monthly follow ups and chemo washes with the doctor, he will be finding out if more cancerous cells were detected and discuss a plan for treatment. Thankfully as of now he has been able to return to work and we are hoping he continues to be healthy enough to continue to do so.
A lot of his medical expenses are not covered, and with the everyday necessities of life, bills are beginning to pile and money is getting tighter and tighter. My father Jimmy is the strongest, most selfless person I have ever known and is always there to give love and support or the shirt off his back to anyone that needs it. Now, it's time that we send back some of that love and support to him.
