Little Logan's "Upsee!"

As most of you know, or are here to find out, Logan was born with a condition called Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita, also referred to as AMC. It is a congenital disorder which causes contractures of the joints, and low muscle mass. Typically, it affects 2 or more areas of the body. In Logan's case it affects his hips, his knees, his feet, shoulders, elbows, wrists, and thumbs. Luckily enough Logan faces most of his problems in his legs, leaving him weak and unable to bare weight on them.

Arthrogryposis is very rare. Some studies have shown it be as rare as 1 in every 12-15,000 births. Other studies have shown 1 in every 3,000.

Since the day Logan was born, he has been undergoing some kind of therapy. Weather it be bracing, casting, surgery to correct his bones, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, the list goes on and on. In the last 3 years, Logan has undergone 4 different surgeries. He had hip surgery, surgery on both of his feet to correct what they call Congenital Vertical Talus, and he had x2 orchiopexy done. He has undergone many MRI's, XRays, genetic testing and much more.

Logan continues to amaze me every single day. He has overcome so many challenges God has faced him with.

Logan is slowly but surely making progress in his orthotics that some of you may have seen if you have myself on Facebook. However, I am always looking for MORE ways to help Logan and better assist his disabilities. In doing so I have come across an amazing device called an "UPSEE" which was created by a Father in Ireland for his child with cerebralpalsy. The idea of the upsee is to help harness the child to the parent at the appropriate height, which gets them standing in an upright walking position.



I really think that this device will help better Logan's needs when it comes to getting upright, and learning how to use his orthotics to the best of his ability. Not only would it benefit the child, but it benefits the person who the child is harnessed to. For instance, when assisting Logan in his orthotics, i myself, or whomever it may be is forced to arch over in an uncomfortable bent over position, and for long periods of time that can be extremely challenging.

I am hoping to raise money, to go towards this device for Logan as it is an un-billable, very expensive piece of equipment.

Thanks to my amazing friends and family for the support , and thanks to his amazing team of therapists and doctors, Logan has over come so much in such a short period of time. Here's to hoping that this is a step in the right direction for him.

If the upsee does not seem like it is benefiting Logan in any way, I will be donating it to the child development Center, where children with disabilities like Logan's are free to rent it out through the program.
