As many of us at 1299 Ocean Ave. are aware, Ricardo Navas has been battling a very agressive form of colon cancer, and has recently suffered a setback. Approximately 2 years ago, he was diagnosed with colon cancer. He was treated  and appeared to have been cleared of the cancer, but unfortunately it has returned. This time it has spread and he is currently going through a new round of chemotherapy. The treatment and medication, as well as the pain, have taken a toll on Ricardo which is why he has been unable to work, his sister and brother-in-law stepping in to help out with the car wash.


Ricardo has operated the car wash in our building for over 10 years, and as we know, works incredibly hard, day in and day out, and no matter what personal trials he has gone through, always met us with a smile and a "good morning", always helpful, and even greeting many of us by our names.

Not being able to work, and with mounting medical bills, we have created this GoFundMe account to assist Ricardo, his wife, and his two children. Even a little can go a long way, and of course, it all adds up.

We will all be thankful to see Ricardo's smiling face back in our building. If we can help, while he fights hard, it will hopefully allow his return that much sooner!
