This page has been set up on behalf of Wilfred’s Mum and Dad, Lucy and Will by their family members. Lucy and Will would never ask for help, and so we’ve set this up on their behalf, because they have a long road ahead whilst caring for and supporting their four year old son Wilfred in the biggest fight of his life.

On 8th November 2022, little Wilfred woke up like any other day, but it soon became apparent that this day would change the course of his life. Wilfred was unable to walk, he couldn’t feel his legs.
Little Wilfred was taken to Dorchester County Hospital where he underwent multiple tests and scans to ascertain the cause of the loss of feeling in his legs. After an agonising wait, Lucy and Will were told the news that no parent should ever hear about their child, 4-year-old Wilf has cancer; a tumour on his spine.

He was rushed up to Southampton General Hospital, where brave Wilf underwent a series of biopsies and commenced his intense course of chemotherapy treatment immediately.

For those of you who haven’t been lucky enough to meet Wilf, he is a happy, smiley, fiery, adventurous little boy who has nothing but love to give to everyone he meets. He loves adventuring with his brother and sister out on his balance bike, and you will always find him with his family. He is sweet and kind, but he is also a tough little cookie. Not one to ever let a trip or a fall spoil his day, if he isn’t outside having fun, you’ll find him on his iPad playing Roblox. His adorable nickname is fluffy, as he is always sporting a fluffy barnet! Despite his resilient little nature, he is still just a four-year-old child that has just been told he has cancer. This is not something that any child should ever go through and is not something that he can fully comprehend at such a young age. A nickname that was once given so lovingly, is now a cause of great sadness, as he embarks on his intense chemo treatment, and the inevitable fact that he will lose his beautiful fluffy hair.

Lucy and Will are doting parents to three beautiful children, Lyla (10), Reggie (6) and Wilfred (4). Both of them are self-employed working in the fitness industry as fitness instructors. They have the family home, to which they share a joint mortgage on. Due to the intense and lengthy treatment Wilf is now facing, both parents are now currently unable to continue working as they need to be by their sons side every step of the way. Within 24hours, the families life has changed. Both of their income has now stopped and even simple tasks such as filling the car with petrol to make the trips back and forth to the hospital (120-mile round trip) or grabbing a bite to eat during their 24hour stays are now the cause of financial burden and worry. At this awful time in their son’s life, the last thing they need to be worrying about is money.

We have started this Go Fund Me Page in order to ease the financial pressure that has been placed on the family. Unfortunately, cancer doesn’t discriminate, and cancer doesn’t care. It doesn’t care that they have a mortgage to pay, children to feed, childcare arrangements to make, and all other bills and tasks that they would usually meet financially without issue. This is where we need your help. We completely appreciate that times are tough right now, but any donation, no matter how small, would go a long way in supporting this distraught family through this challenging, frightening, and uncertain time. The money raised would be used to pay for their ongoing travel expenses, their mortgage, their childcare, their food, and all other life essentials that must still be paid in the upcoming months.

Whenever a child gets diagnosed with cancer, of course the family gets hit hard, but the community feels it too. This sudden and shocking news has been heart-breaking to so many people, and worlds have been turned upside down in 24 hours. We cannot express how much gratitude and appreciation we have for everyone that has reached out with messages of love and support, and we will continue to update this page as and when appropriate.

Please keep Wilfred in your thoughts and prayers.
