Little Warrior - Aiden’s Rhabdomyosarcoma Fight
Thank you so much for popping on here!
Dannielle welcomed Aiden to the world on the 2nd of October,2016.
For the most part of Aiden’s life, she has been the sole provider for Aiden, as a single mum. But things change, and wonderful things happen and now Dannielle is sharing her and Aiden’s life with her partner George.
But with the good comes the bad, and sometimes life changing, in a way that you never saw coming.
Three weeks ago, Dannielle found a lump on what she thought was Aiden’s testicle. Dannielle headed straight to the doctors on the Friday and by Friday afternoon, Aiden was undergoing an ultrasound. They hadn’t left the hospital when the doctor called, saying that it looked to be testicular cancer.
By that afternoon, Aiden was booked in at TheRoyal Children’s Hospital in Emergency the Saturday morning at 8am. From there, they spent 10 gruelling hours in the hospital, with Aiden undergoing blood tests and another ultrasound. They met with a Urologist and were told that the lump was a tumour, and the tumour wasn’t actually attached to the teste, but the teste cord.
The following Wednesday, Aiden was back at the Royal Children’s Hospital, for further scans and testing was done to determine what Aiden was facing and they were back at the hospital last Friday and Aiden’s diagnosis was confirmed.
Aiden has been diagnosed with a cancer calledrhabdomyosarcoma. This is a type of cancer that affects muscle tissue and is most common in children and adolescents. The cells change and grow, and presents itself in tumours throughout the body. It is a fast growing cancer.
The process from here for Aiden is to undergo more surgery, to remove nodes from his abdomen that showed cancer “hot spots”. Following this surgery, Aiden will undergo 9 rounds of Chemotherapy, to hopefully rid him of anymore cancer cells. This process will take approximately 6 months. If this does not work, Aiden will need to go through a round of radiation therapy.
As you can imagine, this diagnosis of her little man was unimaginable for Dannielle, and the many people that love and adore Aiden. If you are lucky enough to know Aiden, you know that he is the most affectionate and caring dude, with a huge amount of spunk and energy to match. He is a huge part of so many people’s lives.
The next 6 months and possibly more are going to be emotionally and financially draining forDannielle. We want the financial side of this to be the last thing Dannielle needs to worry about.
Dannielle will be taking Aiden back and forth to The Royal Children’s Hospital, travelling over 2 hours each time so Aiden can undergo treatment. There will be other costs associated with making sure Aiden gets through this, that will put further pressure on her.
Dannielle is the first person to help anyone wherever she can, and we are asking that if you can, please donate to this fund. Any support will be very appreciated by Dannielle and she thanks everyone for the already shown love and support.
Please keep Aiden in your thoughts and prayers as he fights this fight. And thanks again for taking the time to read this. Your support means the world to Dannielle.
