Little Village Cancer Warrior

Hi, my name is Blanca and I am fund raising for a childhood friend of mine, who so many of us grew up with, in Little Village. She is

now in a battle with a very aggressive and invasive type of breast cancer. I, myself, am a leukemia survivor. Her battle has just begun. This is going to be a long and difficult fight.. The following is her first message, telling me. “Hi! I was diagnosed with triple negative invasive Ductal Carcinoma. It’s a type of cancer that is very aggressive & we are limited in treatment options. It is very high risk.” After reading, this I remember my own fear of not being alive for my children, who were toddlers at the time, and my heart was floored. I’ve been where she is. She is in need of financial help. I am doing my best to help, but I can’t do it alone. I need as many from the community, to please help and reach this goal for her needs. She has raised wonderful kids, 2 of which served our country, the others are amazing people and are in school. She comes from a large blue family, with 4 brothers that are retired P.O.’s. Laura is a dispatcher for Chicago at the 911 Center at ORD, dispatching for the 050 unit of CPD, CFD & Aviation Security. Her job is taking care of others... she has given so much of herself, for so long, let’s now help take take care of her.
