Little Sis Needs A Ride

At times like these words fail me! My little sister has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Before she received this devastating news she was in the process of going through the state of Missouri to get a van that she can drive by herself. She was born with cerebral palsy and has lost most of the use of the right side of her body. She grew up this way, fighting every step of the way. She has worked all her life until her paralysis took over and she could not do the things she used to do. The State of Missouri told her they would help her get a van that she can drive her electric wheelchair in and drive from the wheelchair. The process was going along fine until she was diagnosed with breast cancer last week. Now because of her trips back and forth to the doctors for treatments, she can not get a part-time job (part of the state stipulation). Also, with the Covid-19 and how weak she will be from treatments, I'm not sure she should be working anyway. The best advice they could give her was to have a family member set up a go fund me page. She did not receive disability until she could no longer work, although she qualified as a child. Now when she needs help from the state she can not get it. Of course, my family will not let her go-to treatments alone, but she needs this van to help her with everyday life. She wants to go to the store without waiting for someone to have time to take her. We do not expect this to reach the full goal, but that is the cost of the van. If the only thing you can do is share this post, that is most appreciated. If the state would step up and help someone in the time they need it, we would not be setting this up. I know how quickly 5, 10, 20 adds up and anything we raise will go directly to my sister. Thank you !
