A Message From Our Director:
This is a story that is extremely personal to me as someone who is also currently studying abroad. I never know how to describe all these complicated feelings when I am so far away from my hometown. I wanted to find a way to convey how the distance has affected how I view my present life and purpose, including my own neglect towards my culture and family. With that said, Dawn is undoubtedly a reflection and an embodiment of these emotions. But, she also exists as a reflection of many people who left a life behind to pursue their passion or career. I believe that it is a universal feeling to feel stuck in your work, but to find some kind of solace and familiarity in a family far away, whether that may be a 3 hour train ride or a 15 hour flight over the ocean.
