This tiny little girl has been fighting from almost the moment she came into rescue.

At just 12 weeks old, she had been through more than any kitten should. Repeated vet hospital stays, round-the-clock syringe feeding, treatment for painful mouth ulcers, and vets have found a mass growing in her tummy. Shes having scans and may even need surgery, and honestly we’re all just hoping for answers.

She first came into rescue with her mum and siblings when she was only 10 days old. While the rest of the litter were growing and thriving, it quickly became obvious that something wasn’t right with her.

She arrived into rescue alongside her mum and siblings at just 10 days old. While the rest of the litter were thriving, it was obvious from the start that something wasn’t right with her.

Not long after arriving, she developed two large lumps inside her mouth which made feeding from mum incredibly difficult. Then when her eyes opened, they were bright pink, immediately causing concern. Mum was tested at the vets for herpes, but thankfully the results came back negative.

As the days went on, this little kitten faced hurdle after hurdle.

She slowly lost the ability to feed properly from mum, meaning we had to step in with bottle feeds and syringe feeding around the clock just to keep her going. Even when her teeth started coming through, they erupted in the wrong order. Every tiny milestone that should have been simple for her became another battle.

But despite absolutely everything, she kept fighting.

She grew stronger. Her little personality began to shine through. She started playing, seeking cuddles, and showing us every single day just how determined she was to live.

Then everything changed again.

Last Thursday she suddenly lost her appetite, her energy, and the sparkle she had fought so hard to keep. By Friday evening, after still being unable to get food into her and seeing no improvement, she was rushed back to the vets. She was given medication, but they still couldn’t pinpoint exactly what was wrong and told us to return if she didn’t improve overnight.

Saturday morning was terrifying.

She had layed almost lifeless throughout the night. We couldn’t get her medication into her and she was completely unlike herself. We rushed her straight back to the vets where she was immediately hospitalised.

She was placed on IV fluids, had constant blood tests to monitor her glucose levels, was given strong pain relief, and underwent a full examination. The vets discovered ulcers in her mouth and that her tummy was extremely painful.

By the time we collected her later that evening, she was purring, asking for cuddles, and had even managed to eat a little by herself. She looked like a completely different kitten to the one we had dropped off earlier that day.

But sadly, her fight is still far from over.

On the 12th, she deteriorated again and had to be hospitalised for a second time. She is now back on IV fluids, receiving different medications, and being monitored closely by the vets.

After further examinations, the vets have discovered a mass growing in her tummy. This morning she has to undergo a scan and, depending on what they find, this tiny baby may need surgery at only 12 weeks old.

It’s heartbreaking that such a young kitten has already endured more than most animals ever should, yet she continues to fight with everything she has.

We are doing absolutely everything possible for her, and we won’t stop fighting while she keeps fighting too.

UPDATE:

01/09/2026: We have had blood test results come back to say she is anaemic! Unfortunately with the fat content in her blood we are unable to run tests properly so this is all we know at this stage! She has to be starved for 24 hours and have more blood tests so hopefully the blood is more viable to test. She will also be having an FIP test! The vets found that the mass in her tummy has gone and this is one big puzzle!
