Little Oakley Beavers Needs Help with Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Isn't Oakley the cutest baby EVER? I just can't with all that hair!! Today Oakley is 52 days old and has spent every single one of those days at the Riley Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. On November 27th, 2023 he was prenatally diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). Once he arrived in the World on March 6th, 2024 the doctors also discovered he had a spinal displacement, esophageal atresia, tracheoesophageal fistula and chromosome deletions.
Since then this little guy has gone through two heart surgeries as well as two stomach surgeries. But he continues to fight on and show his amazing will to live. On April 1st his dad, Isaac, got to hold him for the first time. And on April 12th his sister, Hunter, gave her brother a teddy bear to play with and cuddle. The doctors have been struggling with determining the best routes for Oakley because the conditions he has are not commonly seen together. At this point, they are hopeful that Oakley can be extubated very soon and that a much needed Norwood heart surgery can be conducted next.
All of this goes to show how great Oakley's will to survive really is - A MIRACLE.
Unfortunately, miracles are expensive....VERY expensive. Medicare at this point is only paying for services they deem necessary. (I am not sure who "they" are but it all seems medically necessary to me!) As you can imagine, this is extremely overwhelming for this little family.
Isaac and Kaley are one of the sweetest and most down-to-earth couples I have ever met. They are not blinded by all the shimmer and dazzle most young couples yearn for when getting married and starting a family. In fact, Isaac and Kaley hunt, trap, and catch most of the meat for their family. In plain terms, they are a simple couple that just wants to raise their children with old-school conservative values. Kaley is currently on maternity leave and hoping to get that extended under the circumstances. Isaac is an unemployed roofing contractor since there is a lack of work at the moment in the area.
As you can see from reading all this, these young kids need our help and that is why I created with GoFundMe page. They are currently meeting all their personal needs right now but are not sure how long that will be sustainable. Just this week, they received a billing for $60,000, which does not even include any of the surgeries up to this point.
We know in this economy everyone is struggling. If you can find it in your heart to help with a donation, regardless of the dollar amount, the gratitude would be beyond immeasurable for my cousins. Any amount would be so greatly appreciated. If that is not possible for you right now, please consider sharing this on all your social media accounts. Word of mouth is so powerful and could sure make an incredible difference to this young family.
One last request: Please include Oakley and his family in your prayers. As you can tell, they are much needed and will be greatly appreciated. Isaac and Kaley will be posting updates on here as warranted.
For the bottom of all our hearts....thank you so much!
