As many people know, my sister Karizma and brother in law Rene have had a rough past 2 months. On April 6th, Karizma started experiencing pains that led her to go to the ER and eventually end up having an emergency C Section. My nephew was born at 9:37AM, weighing in at 1 lb 4 oz and 11.5 inches.

The past two months have been a roller coaster as Karizma and Rene have graciously handled every step forward with two steps back, all while trying to wear a brave face for their 1 year old at home. During this time, Rene has had to take off numerous days at work, without pay, and this has led to a build up of financial stress on the family with Rene being the sole financial provider, as they also brace for the inevitable NICU bills.

I am trying to give them as much help as possible, and anyone who knows these two know how hard headed and stubborn they are, and especially how much they try so hard to handle everything on their own. Anything helps, and of course even if you're unable to contribute financially, words of support, prayers, and positive thoughts sent to the family are much appreciated.

We're all hoping for little Nugget to be home by his original due date! On Thursday he will be crossing the 2 month milestone, and is currently 2 lbs 7.5 oz!
