Little Majestic Artist Fees

About Us
Little Majestic is a creative warehouse in the industrial fringe of City of Sydney. It is home to over 25 artists working across a spectrum of art forms including Fine Art; Fashion and design; Costume and Prop-making; Film and photography.

Little Majestic is the initiative of visual artist, Camilla Lawson and is self-funded with each artists contributing to rent and running costs. We do not receive external funding.

We were lucky and received one-off Covid-resilient grants from both  Inner West Council and City of Sydney to establish an online presence.

We launched our dynamic website https://www.littlemajestic.com.au to, not only promote the work of artists, but also as a dynamic platform to expand artistic production and virtual works, to reach broader new local and remote audiences. We are establishing an online artist residency program and 360 degree virtual events along side constructing an onsite gallery.

We have an ambitious vision! And are thrilled to venture into Live Streaming and 360 degree virtual technology.

We are adapting to an uncertain Covid-safe world. We are expanding and reinventing ourselves to create opportunities and connections, not only for  Little Majestic artists but artists in remote areas or with limited access.

Where are the Donations going?
To better support artists and stimulate new, relevant and engaging artistic production, we are seeking donations so that we can provide artists with fees. We are following NAVA  guidelines https://visualarts.net.au/code-of-practice/73-schedule-fees-practitioners/ and would like to offer artists payments of $300 - $1,200 for the presentation of new works as part of our online Artist Residency Program; Online Exhibitions and Performances and our onsite Events.

Ideally we would like to provide artist fees for 15 artists over a 12 month period. Paying Artist fees stimulates professional development of artists; allow us to reach a more diverse community of artists and artists at all stages of their career; gives opportunity to disadvantaged artists; promotes exploration of new, interesting and engaging work that is not necessarily commercial.

We know that by building such opportunities, will promote publicity and prestige. Our online platform will become self fulfilling and we see an exciting and exhilarating explosion of cultural engagement ahead.
