Help Magic Fight Lymphoma

Dear Friends

I’m reaching out to you again with an update on my dear friend Julie Petersen's beloved dog, Magic. Recently, Magic underwent testing to determine whether her lymphoma is indolent (slow-growing) or aggressive. Once we have the results, we’ll be able to decide the best course of action for her treatment.

We are leaning towards an oral drug treatment, as we don't want to put Magic through six months of intensive chemotherapy, which can be quite torturous. If Magic’s lymphoma is indolent, the oral treatment should still extend her life by many months, providing her with a better quality of life.

The cost of the oral treatment is $6,000. Additionally, the testing and some medicine to ease her stomach have already cost about a couple of thousand dollars.

We want to be transparent about where the donations are going. If there are any funds left over, in the unfortunate event that Magic declines sooner than anticipated, the remaining money will be used to remove lumps from Julie’s other dog, which have been indicated could turn cancerous.

Thank you to everyone whom have already donated. Every little bit helps, and even if you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser with your network would mean the world to us.

Thank you for taking the time to read Magic’s story and for any support you can provide. Together, we can help Magic get the treatment she needs and ensure she has the best possible quality of life for as long as possible.

With gratitude,

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

I'm reaching out to you today to ask for your support in helping my dear friend Julie Petersen's beloved dog, Magic. Magic is not just a pet; she is a cherished member of our family, bringing joy and love into our lives every day. Unfortunately, Magic has been diagnosed with stage 3 or 4 lymphoma.

The good news is that blood tests show the cancer has not spread to her marrow, meaning it’s not stage 5. While dogs with lymphoma typically have a grim prognosis, often living only 1-2 months after diagnosis, Magic is showing remarkable resilience. Despite having lymphoma for months, she continues to thrive, showing no signs of decline other than her swollen lymph nodes.

This gives us hope that Magic might have indolent lymphoma, a much slower progressing form of the disease. With the right treatment, she has a strong chance of going into remission and enjoying many more years of happy, healthy life.

However, the cost of treatment is substantial, roughly $20,000. This amount is beyond what Julie can afford on her own. We believe that with your support, we can give Magic the fighting chance she deserves. Your donations will go directly towards covering the costs of chemotherapy and other necessary treatments to help Magic combat this disease.

We appreciate any amount you can give. Every little bit helps, and even if you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser with your network would mean the world to us.

Thank you for taking the time to read Magic’s story and for any support you can provide. Together, we can help Magic beat lymphoma and continue to bring joy into our lives.

With gratitude,

Mark
