Help Support Little Luna's Care and Surgery

Hi, my name is Toni, and I’m starting this fundraiser on behalf of Lucinda Johnson, for her sweet 17-week-old puppy Luna.

On January 29, 2024, Lucinda was pulling out of the driveway, and accidentally hit Luna. Good friends rushed to her side and helped get Luna to the nearest emergency vet, The Animal Hospital at the Crossroads.

Luna suffered from a very high femur fracture, pneumothorax (collapsed lung), and was having difficulty breathing.

Luna required emergency treatment for the pneumothorax to remove the air from the space between her lungs. The veterinarian didn’t think Luna would live through the night. But she is a little fighter, and to everyone’s surprise she did.

Luna suffered multiple pulmonary contusions and required an oxygenated kennel to continue recovering.

Luna remains under the care of Crossroads Animal Hospital, but no longer requires oxygen and continues to improve every day. The cost of Lunas emergency and supportive care will be ongoing until she is released. The remaining cost of her care is estimated to be 1300.

Lunas next journey will start after her lungs heal. Luna will be taken to the Hillside Veterinary Clinic for orthopedic surgery to repair her femur fracture. The femur fracture is high and cannot be immobilized with a cast. The cost of Lunas femur surgery will be 1500-2000.

Lucinda is heartbroken, and overwhelmed, Luna is just a baby. But she is incredibly thankful Luna survived. Please help pray for her recovery. Lucinda has a limited income due to disability. Please contribute to Luna’s fund if you can, any amount is appreciated, and every amount counts.
