Little Joy in Gaza

My name is Najwa Juma, a Palestinian writer and female activist currently residing in Germany. I am fundraising for "Little Joy" initiative that my eldest daughter Layan established in Gaza Strip last January 2024 in Yafa displacement camp in Deir Al Balah city. After being displaced many times, Layan and her family found themselves in the displacement camp in the Middle area. There, and despite the bombardment, fear, and hunger, Layan started an initiative called "Little Joy" with the help of her cousins. She wanted to distract the attention of the children and give them some relief, so she started by telling stories, and then she got some money from her father to buy papers and colors, to give the displaced children relief by drawing. She also used her talent for drawing to draw on their faces. Layan and her cousins implied many ideas to entertain the children and bring Little Joy to the hearts of dozens of broken hearts in the displacement camp.

We reach out to you to support the continuation of this initiative and to help us bring a little joy by affording the basic necessities to the displaced children not only in the middle area, but also all over the Gaza Strip.

اسمي نجوى جمعة، كاتبة وناشطة فلسطينية مقيمة حاليًا في ألمانيا. أقوم بجمع التبرعات لصالح مبادرة Little Joy التي أنشأتها ابنتي الكبرى في قطاع غزة في شهر يناير الماضي

أقيمت هذه المبادرة في كانون الثاني 2024 على يد ليان أبو القمصان، فتاة موهوبة تبلغ من العمر 17 عاماً، في مخيم يافا للنازحين في مدينة دير البلح.

بعد النزوح عدة مرات، وجدت ليان وعائلتها أنفسهم في مخيم النازحين بالمنطقة الوسطى. وهناك، ورغم القصف والخوف والجوع، بدأت ليان مبادرة اسمها (فرحة صغيرة) بمساعدة أبناء خالتها. أرادت ليان تشتيت انتباه الأطفال ومنحهم بعض الراحة، فبدأت بسرد القصص، ثم حصلت على بعض المال من والدها لشراء أوراق وألوان، لتقوم بالتفريغ النفسي للأطفال النازحين من خلال الرسم. كما استخدمت موهبتها في الرسم للرسم على وجوههم. طبقت ليان وفريق المبادرة العديد من الأفكار للترفيه عن الأطفال وإدخال القليل من الفرح إلى قلوبهم المنكسرة في مخيم النازحين.

نحن نتواصل معكم لتقديم الدعم لاستمرار هذه المبادرة ولمساعدتنا لإدخال القليل من الفرح على قلوب الأطفال النازحين من خلال توفير الاحتياجات الأساسية لهم ليس فقط في المنطقة الوسطى، ولكن أيضًا في جميع أنحاء قطاع غزة.
