Help the Palacios Family as Sweet Isa Battles Leukemia

A few days ago, the Palacios family’s world changed in an instant. Their joyful, snuggly, three-year-old daughter Isa was diagnosed with B-Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL, standard risk).

Isa is as sweet and snuggly as they come—her brightness and laughter fill every room, and she absolutely adores her siblings. She loves singing songs about Jesus and cuddling close to her mama.

A message from Isa’s mom, Flavia

“I have moments where this just feels like a crazy dream I’ll wake up from and then there are moments when it all hits me and fear comes with that reality and then that’s really overwhelming.

But I have to say that the most grounding force I have is just how much I trust Heavenly Father. I know He is aware of us, and I can 100% see how He has been preparing us, especially me, for this.

I have seen God’s hand in our life so, so much—especially lately as Carlos and I have been working to live a more Christ-centered life.

Isa has been diagnosed with B-Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. The good news is this type is curable, with a 90% success rate. Doctors expect her to be cured in about 2.5 to 3 years. The next 9–11 months will be the hardest as she goes through chemotherapy. There will be good days and hard days. She will lose her hair. But we trust that all will be well.”

How you can help

Flavia and Carlos are walking a long and faith-filled road ahead. Isa’s immune system will be fragile, which means she won’t be able to attend school, church, or public gatherings for some time. This isolation will be especially challenging for Isa going into the holidays and her upcoming birthday.

With six children total and Carlos being the family’s sole income earner, even the practical parts of daily life will soon begin to feel heavy. The coming months will be especially hard as Isa begins treatment, and this support will help the family stay steady through those first critical stages.
