Hey there! I'm Thomas, the writer/director of the absurdist crime film Little Holland. About a year and a half ago I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a filmmaker. I started making short films to learn the craft. I did everything from writing, to directing, to camera, sound, editing and even acting. It was basically my film school. But more importantly, I discovered my creative voice along the way.
My latest short film, LOLA, served as a personal proof-of-concept for Little Holland. When I made it, I realised the potential it had.
LITTLE HOLLAND
Set in Amsterdam, Little Holland is a wild, darkly comic story following three intertwining journeys: the psychotic Lola, the hitman Sonny, and the LSD lovebirds Tom and Isa. It's a film in which I combine all my cinematic inspirations into one big mosaic. From neo-noir crime thrillers and French New Wave to Spaghetti Westerns and 1980s Hong Kong action cinema, in particular from directors Sergio Leone, Jean-Luc Godard, Wong Kar-Wai and John Woo. In other words: a rollercoaster ride. Unpredictable, thrilling, and, if I may say so myself, a lot of fun.
But my biggest inspiration has to be Pulp Fiction by Quentin Tarantino. Like Tarantino’s classic, Little Holland intertwines three storylines that jump through time and collide in surprising ways. I want every twist to feel fresh and unpredictable, breaking away from the familiar formulas so many stories rely on.
Little Holland is a true passion project. To me, a film should be an adventure: something that sweeps you up, makes you care about the characters, laugh with them, fear for them, and hope alongside them. Little Holland is exactly that — a fast and colorful journey full of twists, danger, and heart. Because beneath all the chaos, blood, and madness, it’s actually a surprisingly funny story.
The script is already finished, the cast is mostly complete and, for the first time ever, I have a crew on my side!
PRODUCTION STATUS
Right now we are in the middle of pre-production! I’m wrapping up the last round of auditions, exploring our potential filming locations, and working closely with the team to lock in our shooting schedule. We aim to film from March to June 2026, and then move straight into post-production.
PLANS FOR FUNDS
Little Holland is a low-budget production that I’ve been financing entirely on my own. But to make it as incredible as it deserves to be, I’ve reached the limit of what I can fund personally. Little Holland is currently in pre-production and we still need some money for production and post-production. The funds will be used for:
- Renting additional equipment
- Renting filming locations
- Props and costumes
- Audio mixing and color grading in post-production
- Film festival submission fees
Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to finishing this adventure. We’d be incredibly grateful!
We frequently post updates on our Instagram account (@littlehollandfilm). So follow us if you are interested in our progress!
Thank you so much for your love and support. It truly means the world.

MEET THE CAST
Denny Baptist as Sonny Atlas
Sonny Atlas iss a hitman who is as laidback and nonchalant as he is capable and effective.
Denny’s calm energy is exactly what this role calls for, and we can’t wait to see him bring Sonny Atlas to life on screen!
Ralf Oosten as Tom Staal
Tom is a Dutch student who gets entangled in the criminal underworld of Holland with his girlfriend Isa.
Tom isn’t just the comic relief of Little Holland. He represents us, the audience: an ordinary guy doing his best, with qualities and imperfections. No matter how hard he tries to hide it, Tom rarely has a clue about what’s going on. And, like us, he can only react as the chaotic story of Little Holland sweeps him along.
"Hi everyone!
My name is Ralf, and I’ll be playing Tom Staal in the upcoming film Little Holland.
First of all — thank you SO much for the incredible support. And trust me… after reading the script for the second time, I can tell you one thing: this movie is absolutely insane. It’s sharp, it’s absurd, it’s hilarious — full of wild moments, crazy trips, and really good jokes.
And honestly… the Dutch film industry needs this. We keep seeing the same romcoms with the same actors. Nothing wrong with them — but it’s time for something fresh. Fresh faces like me, and familiar faces you’ve seen in strong Dutch series and films. A real indie project with a different voice.
So again: thank you for supporting us.
Dankjewel — and stay tuned!" - Ralf
Giada Tresoldi as Isabella (Isa) Fioreluna
"Hi! I’m Giada, and I'm an actress. I’ve loved acting since I was little. I trained for four years in musical theatre in Italy and completed a two-year acting diploma at Mulholland Academy in Amsterdam. I’m really excited to be part of this project and to step into Isa’s world. Her kindness, innocence, warmth, and the tender love she feels for her boyfriend Tom are all qualities I admire. She stays true to herself and to her words, and that’s something I find beautiful about her. I’m grateful for the chance to be part of this journey, and I'm thrilled to start it all knowing I’ll be working alongside such a talented and passionate team!" - Giada
