Little Hearts Matter - #EmeliesStory
As many of you may know, earlier this year we almost lost our beautiful 9 month old daughter, Emelie, to Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). HLHS is a rare congenital heart condition where the left side of the heart is extremely underdeveloped. Emelie has undergone 2 open heart surgeries already in her short life, with at least one more open heart surgery to take place in the next couple of years. Whilst surgery and treatment provide some hope, there remains an uncertain outlook for the future.
Little Hearts Matter are the only national UK charity offering specialised support to anyone affected by the diagnosis of single ventricle heart condition. Their resources have provided our family with an incredible amount of support through some of our darkest times and now, it is our time to give back.
On 5th November, myself and 9 friends will be participating in the Nuclear Races (like Tough Mudder) to raise as much money and awareness for this amazing charity. Their vital work helps children and families all over the UK and every single penny counts! Nothing is too big or small.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to our family.
More information about Little Hearts Matter: Little Hearts Matter offers support and information to the children, and their families, born with only half of their heart and works to raise awareness of the needs of all those affected by these incurable conditions.
