Little Gunner

Unfortunately, this little puppy comes with a heartbreaking story. The vets believe he was attacked by a large dog, as he had four bite wounds—one on his mouth, cheek, neck, and below his eye. These injuries were left untreated, causing infections and abscesses that later burst. It seems the person who had him either didn’t want to pay for treatment or didn’t want to be held accountable for the attack, so they struck him in the head with something heavy in an attempt to end his life. He was then abandoned.

Thankfully, he’s received treatment for the infection, which has cleared up, but he still suffers some damage to his eye from the trauma. His eye is being carefully monitored. While he can still see out of it, he may need surgery on his eyelid to prevent future infections. He’s healing well, soaking up all the love in his foster home, and exploring the world with a joyful spirit. Despite everything, he’s an incredibly lovable, trusting, and sweet boy.

As you can imagine, his vet bills are adding up, and while we’re overwhelmed with expenses, we couldn’t turn away this precious pup. Any help towards his recovery would mean the world.
