My name is Anusha Dhara and I'm raising funds for my friend's daughter Sonali, who is almost 2 years and was born with brain bleed and acquired hydrocephalus. She underwent few brain injuries earlier in her life and has a shunt placed in her brain and had a complex course of stay for 5 months in the NICU.

Unfortunately, this condition compromised her motors skills and she cannot stand up herself or walk. Recently she started crawling after a year long of pediatric physiotherapy sessions and stem cell infusions. She also has visual impairment which will definitely get better with multiple stem cell therapies  and the family needs funds for that.

Her parents allocated most of their financial resources to afford a high number of physiotherapy sessions and professionals have decided Sonali would tremendously benefit from pediatric physiotherapy. Her parents found a place in Iowa City by doing high amount of research, where the best pediatric physiotherapist(Maria Teressa Ferrer) is located. The name of the clinic is Ferrer Pediatrics.

According to Maria, Sonali would definitely progress if the therapy is given to her on a daily basis and the family has no funds to continue,  unless if there are any funds raised through crowd funding.

The family desperately needs funds now to continue her rehabilitation and none of these expenses are covered by the insurance and are
mostly taken out of pocket. The family has exhausted all their resources and are now looking for help through crowd funding. 

I'm organizing this fundraiser for the baby and all of our efforts go to her and being able to afford this treatment would mean the world to me and to her family. With Covid-19, the world has experienced the worst but also the best of people...and it's been proven that together, we can all make the difference in this little girl's life and make it bright.

Sonali is scheduled to have the intensive physiotherapy to gain the controls and motions required for day to day activities. The funds are needed for her to continue the rehabilitation programs and achieve her milestones and become completely normal like any other 2 year old.
