Little Devon is sick. Please help!!

Two year old Devon has a 6.3 cm cancerous tumor in her upper spinal column. The doctors in Alaska, where she was recently diagnosed, have never seen this very rare type of cancer in such a small child. They say she will need surgery immediately to attempt to remove the tumor and have told the family to prepare for life long consequences affecting her ability to eat and breathe on her own. She has been transported to Seattle Children’s Hospital and will undergo surgery this Friday. We expect the team there will have a more detailed and hopefully more positive prognosis. We will continue to provide updates here as they are available.

Lena, Devon’s mother, is my cousin and one of the sweetest people and most devoted mothers I know. She is raising her two children, 2 year old Devon and her 5 year old brother Colton, as a single mother with lots of help from her mother, Cynthia. This family is grappling with devastating news and needs our help! They must relocate to Seattle from Alaska for an unknown length of time. Lena will need to pay for an indefinite hotel stay and other living expenses in an expensive city far away from social supports. This fundraiser will help with those costs along with the cost of airfare for Colton and Cindy from Alaska to Seattle. There will undoubtedly be many other expenses as time goes on. Please help me alleviate a bit of the massive amount of stress Lena is under by donating whatever you can.
