Hello Camping Enthusiasts!
I want to create a space for families to spend time together safely while enjoying the outdoors. I envision a campground-style private retreat for patrons to camp in our beautiful upstate NY.
I would not create just any campground... I want one with the unique "JoAnna-flare." Ideas for unconventional camping are flowing while keeping the natural beauty of the landscape with the least impact on current wildlife. No tree, bush or hole will be disturbed if a nesting animal is found within.
I am starting with a basic plot of wooded land that needs development. The bordering stream is full of fish, although it is currently not easily accessible. Work has already begun to clear overgrowth, burn old rotten wood, make some walking paths, etc.
By the year 2030, my goal is to have completed the following:
Dig a pond to stock
Create walking trails
Identify animal nesting/foraging spots
Install more birdhouses throughout the lot
Install electrical posts for campsites
Install potable water spouts
Create structures: Restroom, mini-cabins, pavilion or gathering place for Environmental Education groups, 4H, Boy/Girl Scouts, Congregation camp-outs and maybe the occasional Wedding Retreat or Family Reunion.
The camp is not currently open to the public. Although, travelers will have the ability to book a night online. More details and images are available here:

Realistically speaking, I am not able to fund this project on my own. Every dollar counts more than ever. I invite you all to assist in any way possible to help offset improvement costs.
