Fundraiser for Waylon Keck
Donation protected
Waylon is the 5 1/2 month old son of Caitlin and Jason Keck, he was hospitalized again last night and admitted at Mayo Clinic. Waylon was born on June 1st after Caitlin's nearly 6-week bed rest stay at Methodist due to PPROM. Waylon spent 5 weeks in the NICU, resulting in a 11 week Rochester-stay for Caitlin and Jason.
With Waylon being born 8 weeks early his lungs did not get a chance to fully develop making cold and flu season very difficult for Waylon to stay healthy and thrive. What starts with congestion turns into ER visits, tests, and ultimately hospitalization. Mayo Clinic is a blessing being so close but it is also a financial burden that keeps Caitlin and Jason both away from their careers. Last month Waylon battled both RSV and rhinovirus and was diagnosed with bronchiolitis, which is especially scary for him. The infection has taken a further toll on his lungs, and has hit him harder than most other babies due to his premature birth. This can cause him to struggle with a high heart rate, high breathing rate and dips in his oxygen levels.
Waylon needs the support to stay healthy as he has another journey ahead this winter he will undergo surgery for hip dysplasia and will be in a body cast following surgery.
Please consider donating for Waylon and his parents as they fight through this cold and flu season! Your support will go towards medical bills, meals, childcare once he goes back home, and gas money for the frequent trips to Rochester.
